On July 25, 2018, Idyllwild was threatened by the Cranston Fire that burned over 13,000 acres of the forest surrounding Idyllwild. The Cranston Fire posed a serious threat to the Idyllwild Village; were it not for the brave first responders, the town would have been lost. A grateful community celebrated with several events taking place immediately after the fire.

A long-time advocate and volunteer for the Idyllwild Fire Protection District (IFPD), she knew that they desperately needed equipment. Just 5 years prior, she had organized a successful fundraiser on the heels of the Mountain Fire of July, 2013, to raise money to renovate the IFPD’s run-down housing … she thought, “Let’s bring the community together again.” On Saturday, September 29th, Sheila did just that!
