November 6, 2016 Update
My update on our Libby (the Mustang at Living Free). Oh, my goodness Libby has made such great strides in feeling safe and allowing others to embrace and love her. Here are some examples. Given my stature it is rather challenging to put her blanket on. While I’m scurrying around arranging her blanket she will calmly park herself until my task is completed. Or when grooming her I will gently ask her to raise her leg so I can clean her hoofs and very willingly she bends her knee. Looking back nine months ago when I first got into horses and met Libby there was NO WAY I would have the courage to get close to her let alone put and or get underneath to hook up the blanket. She was so frightened and reactive. Oh did I mention I was too? We both helped each other get over our fears. Her fears of people and mine of horses (egads let alone a wild mustang). The fact that she allowed a new person to come in the coral and take pictures of her was amazing!!!! She was so relaxed. Here are some new pictures of her.
